My second choir concert in LFA

As I put my hands on the Steinway piano, Mr. Plambeck, the conductor, started to shake his hands, and the whole choir opened their mouths to sing together. I never thought my second Christmas concert would feel as thrilling as the first, but as my piano’s first note echoed, a wave of excitement washed over me.

Our choir had a big concert in the biggest hall in our school. We sang seven songs related to Christmas, including Hannuka. I had such a joyful time at the concert, since a lot of people stood up and sang our songs along. Most of the songs were very famous, and some of them were also famous in Korea. One of them was a song named “It’s the most wonderful day of the year,” to which I accompanied the choir. The accompaniment was very challenging, but it was the most entertaining piece to play. That fired up my practice efficiency, and I managed to master it a week before the concert.

At the concert, I was way more nervous than at the first choir concert since there was an assembly of parents and faculty. Not only the audiences but also the level of the piece I’m playing was quite hard since I had several mistakes in the final rehearsal. My accompaniment was at the very last part of the whole concert, making it really hard for me to concentrate in the main singing session. Luckily, I finished all my singing flawlessly. Finally, when it was my turn, I nodded to Mr. Plambeck, and my fingers started to dance on the piano. I was so happy that I could play this piece without any mistakes and successfully get big applause from the audience. I always think practice makes perfect, and I’m going to continue that.
